From the September 1991 issue of Movin' On
Many of our readers are members of the Coast to Coast Campground network. Those of you that are, know that CCC members often exchange information about the CC campgrounds that they visit. We thought that a monthly column commenting briefly on our CC campground experience would be helpful to you. Those of you who are not members may also be interested. So.......here goes for this month. Coarsegold, California, (Yosemite South). Beautiful setting, convenient to Yosemite and Fresno, friendly staff, good sites, nice pool. They regularly serve great breakfasts at a reasonable price. Isleton, California, (Delta Isle). Good location, near Napa Valley and San Francisco, great for boating, cycling, fishing. Lots of full hookups, easy to get in. Sites are narrow and maintenance is poor. Klamath, California, (Klamath River RV Park). Great location in the middle of Redwood National Park. Very friendly. Good hookups, sites are narrow, on the river, very scenic. Talent, Oregon, (Oregon RV Roundup). Lovely park, well maintained, good swimming pool, nice sites, park is next to a bike path. Limited sites for large rigs; reservations suggested. Tons of blackberry bushes along the bike path. Seven miles from Ashland and the famous Shakespearean theaters. La Pine, Oregon, (Land of Lakes Resort). Easy to get in, lots of wide full hookup sites. This is a friendly, very basic park about 25 miles south of Bend. No trees, no pool, nice club house. Bend, Oregon, (Sundance Meadows). Water and electric only, poor interior roads and narrow—sloping sites. This 900 acre ranch offers horseback riding. It also has an indoor pool which is very nice, but it's a half mile from the camp sites on a very rough road. From the October 1991 issue of Movin' On We continue to enjoy our Coast to Coast membership and would like to share our CCC experiences with you in this monthly column. This month all of our experiences were good—several being outstanding. Mosier, Oregon, (American Adventure---Columbia River Gorge). This resort was voted most scenic of all CCC resorts by its members. It's true. It's worth the long 1,200 foot climb and one and one-half mile of gravel road to get here. The amenities include a nice pool, hot tub and par three golf course. Sites are secluded and wooded with water and electricity only. Big rigs may have difficulty maneuvering into sites. Silver Creek, Washington, (Leisure Time Resorts---Paradise). This is truly a five star luxury resort. It has everything including sundaes every day at three o'clock. Sites are wide and wooded with most being pull-throughs. The swimming complex will rival the Ritz. Snoqualmie, Washington, (Leisure Time Resorts---Cascade). Very similar to its sister resort above. Only difference is that the hookups include only water and electricity. Many of the sites are pull-throughs. Location is great--- very handy to Seattle. Soap Lake, Washington, (American Adventure---Soap Lake Resort “Healing Waters”). Good hookups and roomy sites including pull-throughs. Nice pool, but facilities were in need of maintenance---like many American Adventure resorts, this one is experiencing financial problems. Polson, Montana, (Flathead Lake). Great location with well maintained pool, rest rooms, hot tub and club house. Sites are narrow and could be soggy at certain times of the year. Right on the lake, it would be a great place in the summer. Anaconda, Montana, (Fairmont). Hookups
are awkward and we needed to use our 75-foot hose. Next door to a complete
conference complex also owned by the resort. There is a small charge to
use the facilities there which include pools, saunas etc.
