From The December 1990 Issue
Of Movin' On
When Brenda and Judy visited us in Hot Springs recently, it was their second vacation in a month. One trip to visit a friend in Tennessee kept them gone over a week. When they stopped in HS, they were on their way to visit relatives in Dallas, Texas, and were going to be gone for nearly two weeks again. They were tired of traveling and longed to be home. In their frustration, they asked us if we ever just want to “go home?” Our answer was that we are always home. We take our home with us. Think about it! We never have to worry about hotel rooms, lumpy, hard or soft mattresses---we have our own wonderful bed, pillows, comforter---no matter where we go. We have closets with clothes always hanging ready to wear. We even carry our refrigerator and stove and cupboards with us. How often do you get that in a motel? I can fix popcorn at a moment's notice or whip up an elegant meal. We also have our books, games, and computer with us. We don't have to ride elevators to get to our room, nor do we have to listen to cars zooming by on the freeway beside the motel. We have a bar, music, television, an excellent restaurant complete with charcoal grill, and we don't have to wait more than ten minutes to get our coffee in the morning; nor do we have to get dressed to go out and get it. After
our trip to Michigan this month, I can appreciate their frustration. I
can't wait to get back home. Home is our motorhome parked at Gulpha Gorge
Campground in Hot Springs, Arkansas, (until we move it somewhere else).
It is home and we love it dearly.
