Handyman Strikes Again

From the February 1991 issue of Movin' On

Last year you may remember that while in Mission, Ron got into some big repair projects and one of them made a very funny story (the holding tank repair caper). Ron's handyman skills have greatly improved. Maybe someday he will even write a handyman's guide book.

The front vent had broken in one of the Valley's wind storms and, undaunted, Ron went to Camping World, bought a new vent, climbed right up on the roof and proceeded to unscrew everything. He replaced the vent, put it all back together and no parts were left over. He did a
good job.

His best job was the water heater repair. After our neighbor informed us that we were gushing water all over the place, Ron and the neighbor discovered that we had a hole in our hot water heater. Ron and Ray successfully shut off the water supply to the heater and  kibitzed about the problem. Ray told Ron that the heater could be easily replaced. Without blinking an eye, Ron went straight to the phone and called a repairman. You would have been proud of how well he wrote the check for $272. Didn't even get his hands dirty.
