Yes, we were at Yosemite National Park in the summer of 1991. The girl in the picture is our granddaughter Liisa who was volunteering with us there at the Pioneer History Center. We had hiked up to Sentinel Dome which was a moderate hike (2 hours).
The trailhead was at the Sentinel Dome/Taft Point trailhead parking area, 6 mi (9.6 km) east of Bridalveil Creek Campground, along the Glacier Point Road.
This relatively easy hike takes you to the base of Sentinel Dome, where you can scramble up the granite slope of the dome (it is not especially steep on its northeast side). From the top, you have a spectacular 360° view of Yosemite Valley (including Yosemite, Vernal, and Nevada Falls, Half Dome) and parts of the high country.
If you have never been to Yosemite National Park you really must
plan to go. I consider it our most breathtaking national park. Below is
a map of Yosemite Valley which I copied from the national park web site.
