IN THIS NEWSLETTER: THE BOOK IS ON ITS WAY TO YOU
Our shipment of Movin’ On (the special advance orders)came in on Wednesday afternoon and we had a shipping party here. Friends who are in the park joined us and we signed books, while they stuffed them into mailers, stapled them shut, licked stamps (four on each regular envelope) and then we enjoyed lots of pizza before we finished up with special orders. Then the guys stacked and carried them to cars to wait for the caravan to the post office this morning (Thursday). I have been told by the post office that those mailed at book rate (the normal way we said these advance orders would be shipped) will take 3-10days to reach their destination. Those of you who asked for Priority mailing will get yours within 2-3 days. After you get your copy of the book and read it, I hope you will let us know what you think of it. We worked very hard on the book and hope that you will like it. We wrote it for you all to help you with the transition into full-timing, We have found a few little mistakes (typos) in the book and will probably find more, but we feel that the content is solid. We are still a bit overwhelmed with the response from all of you. We had well over 600 advance orders and reports are that folks are ordering books at regular price from our fulfillment service. Never in our wildest dreams did we ever envision the success we have enjoyed with An Alternative Lifestyle and the newsletter. We hope this book does as well. If you want more books, the fastest way to get them is to use a credit card and call our fulfillment service (Bookmasters) at 1-800-247-6553. They will be handling all orders for us. The price for the book is $16.95 plus $3 shipping and handling. Amazon. Com will also have the book in just a little while and we sure
would appreciate reviews as soon as they have it posted. Thanks in advance.

When we visited with full-timers Dick and Carol Stewart this fall, she shared a wonderful project that she had discovered. She had wanted to do something charitable, but because of moving around so much found it impossible to get involved in most charities. Carol is making blankets for children as she travels. When finished all she has to do is call a local representative and make arrangements to get the blanket to that person who then takes care of getting the blankets distributed to the national organization or to needy children. In fact, Carol has offered to be a full-timers representative and can be reached by email at Belugarv@aol.com or by writing to her at 200 Rainbow Drive # 10537, Livingston, Texas 77351. Carol says that knitting or crocheting a small blanket for a child is something she can do while rolling down the road or watching television and she enjoys knowing that her effort will brighten the days for a needy child. Project Linus is perfect for full-timers, costs you little, but helps a lot. Both Carol and I (Barb) would love to see a great outpouring from full-timers. If you can’t help, would you please pass this on. For more information on the organization you may write to them at the following addresses. Project Linus

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving here at Valle del Oro. First of all so many of our friends have been popping in with that wonderful special ($8 per day for up to two weeks). But having my son Jim, his wife Sue and grandsons Kristopher and James here for a few days was really a treat. They drove from Oklahoma City a week before Thanksgiving, stopped at the Grand Canyon for a day or two and were able to spend three days with us. The boys went swimming nearly every day and Ron loved playing with them in the pool. Jim is one of my computer sons (all three of my boys are very knowledgeable in this area) and he installed a second hard drive on my computer for me. Now I am almost embarrassed to say that I have a whopping 7.6 gigabytes of hard drive. My computer had been locking up a lot and Jim discovered that my original hard drive of 1.6 g was pretty full. Also now whenever I am on line and have mail, I get to hear my grandsons saying, “Grandma, you’ve got mail.” Jim had them record that and then added it to my files. I love it. Jim is in the Air Force stationed at Tinker Air Force Base and was an air traffic controller, but now is learning to program computers for the air traffic program. While Jim, Sue and the boys were here we did take them to Tortilla Flats
and Goldfield. They loved seeing all the huge Saguaro cactuses and all
the other different ones too.
Don’t forget that we’d love to have you join us on Feb 3 for our picnic
day even if you are not camping with us. Come out early (it costs $4 at
the gate to get into the park for the day), bring a salad to pass, your
drinks, and lawn chairs. We will probably eat around 3 p.m., while it is
still sunny and warm (we hope).
Our Christmas Wish For our personal family, a strong faith, good health, and continued love and devotion to one another. For our Movin’ On family, good health, and wonderful experiences as you explore this beautiful country that God has made and richly blessed. And for those of you that aren’t on the road yet, we add a wish for patience. Your time is coming and we are waiting for you. God’s Blessings to each one of you. |
