This will be very short, because all we have been doing is working and the good news is that today the new book, Movin' On---Living and Traveling Full-time in a Recreational Vehicle went off to the editor. When she is through with it in a few weeks, then I have a couple more weeks worth of work correcting all that she suggests then I will do all the final typesetting and get it ready for the printer. We expect to have books by late November or early December. I think the book will be over 400 pages in length (An Alternative Lifestyle was 255 pages) and full of all lots of new stuff. This new book will replace An Alternative Lifestyle so if you don't have that book yet or if you gave your copy away, you don't have much time left to get one. It will be out of print by the time the new book is available. And the stories are not repeated in the new book so now is your last chance to get An Alternative Lifestyle... All of you that are on our electronic newsletter mailing list will get
an advance notice and have a chance to purchase the new book ahead of everyone
else and at a discounted price. Since we will be the ones mailing it out,
it will also be personally autographed. I will announce the advance purchase
information a couple of weeks before the book goes off to the printer
because I will have to get your orders early in order to know how many
books to be shipped directly to us.
When I send out that advance notice, I will also include the Table of Contents and have an exact count of the pages. We are real excited about it and hope you will be too. We are going to relax a little for two weeks then and travel slowly back to Arizona (it is still hot there). The editor will probably need two weeks to do her thing and we need to be ready to jump to it as soon as she is finished. GREAT FIND We posted this on the What's New page in the web page, but some of you
can't do any web surfing so here's a great secret: There's a new BLM campground
on route 93 in Idaho. It is just 13 ½ miles north of Challis. We
were heading to Challis for one night when I spotted this place. Long paved
sites are right on the Salmon River. Even though there were no hook-ups,
it was so peaceful and wonderful that we stayed 3 days and never once turned
on the generator. We cooked outside on the Coleman stove, put up the hammock
and each read two books. What a relaxing couple of days. The price (because
Ron is old) was only $3 per night (Golden Age Pass). Such a deal! Let us
know if you ever stay there and what you think of it.
Until next time.....Happy trails! |
