 Pretzel Salad
 From the kitchen of Ric & Sue Shafer 

1 cup pretzels, crushed 
1/4 cup sugar 
1-1/2 sticks butter, melted 
1 small box fruit Jello 
1 cup sugar 
1- 3/4 cups hot water 
8 ounce Cool Whip 
1 cup sliced strawberries or fruit 
8 ounce cream cheese 

Mix pretzels, 1 cup sugar, and butter.  Spread in bottom of an 8 x 10 inch pan and bake for 8 minutes at 350.F 

Mix cream cheese, Cool Whip, and 1/4cup sugar and spread over pretzel mix.  Make Jello with hot water, and let cool somewhat.  Add sliced strawberries to jello and pour over the cream cheese mixture.  Make sure the cream cheese mixture seals the jello from getting to the pretzel layer.  Chill overnight. 
Serves 8 to 12.
