Prepare and cool a baked pie shell

Heat 2 cups milk

Mix and add the following to the above:
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup coconut
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla

Boil just till thick.  Remove from heat and pour into cooled, baked pie shell.

Variations using above mixture:
    For plain...omit coconut
    chocolate...add 2 T. cocoa
    banana...add 2 sliced bananas
    pineapple...1/2 cup drained crushed pineapple
